Annie Janson – Savannah, GA
How long have you been involved in theatre?
I have been performing since I was 8 years old, so I’ve been involved in theatre for the past 19 years. I have a BFA in Theatre and an MFA in Performing Arts.
Theatre has always been a huge part of my family and I was influenced at a young age to perform. I have worked for companies such as The Bigfork Summer Playhouse, NTC Productions, Top Hat Productions, Show Palace Theater, Peach State Summer Theater, and the Jekyll Island Musical Theatre Festival.
How long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse?
This is my 6th season at the BSP. I have been at the BSP for 5 seasons as an actor/choreographer and this is my first season back just as a choreographer.
I auditioned for the BSP at UPTA’s in Memphis, TN in 2008 and was hired to play Hope Cladwell in Urinetown. I immediately fell in love with the company and have been coming back ever since.
The BSP is not just a job to me. It’s a home and a family. It has given me not only the opportunity to perform, but also the opportunity to choreograph main season shows as well as direct and choreograph for the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater. Bigfork is my favorite place in the whole world!!!
What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork?
My favorite thing to do is float the Swan River. It is so much fun and it is surreal to be floating down a river in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Looking up at the mountains is like looking at a painting!
Anything else you’d like to add?
I want to thank DT, Frank, Brach, and Dwayne for all the incredible work they do at the BSP and for letting me come back every season to be a part of a truly amazing process!
