Welcome back to Mary Kate, who’s back with The Bigfork Summer Playhouse for a second season!
Mary Kate Moore — California, Missouri (yes, it’s a real town!)
How long have you been involved in theatre? My mom, who is a music teacher and wonderful pianist, and my dad were a huge part of my interest in theatre. Growing up with an “in-house accompanist” got me started singing at a very early age. I was always ready to perform a concert for anyone that would listen.
My first “real” show was the Music Man at age nine at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, Missouri. After performing in several more shows at the Lyceum, I got involved with a community theatre a little closer to my hometown.
In high school I decided to major in theatre in college. My parents were as supportive as ever, taking me to school auditions all over the country. I finally decided to attend Missouri State University in Springfield, and am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. I plan to graduate Spring 2014.
How long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse? This will be my second season at the BSP. I first auditioned for BSP at the Midwest Theatre Auditions in St.Louis Missouri. It’s great to be back for a second year!
What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork? I love going to Glacier National Park, getting out on Flathead Lake, and, of course, spending time at the Garden Bar.
