Continuing in our series of bio blogs about our fabulous BSP cast and crew, today we feature musician, Marc McDuff, spending his first summer in Bigfork. Welcome Marc!
What role(s) do you play at the BSP?
I’m a Musician – Drums/Percussion
How long have you been involved in theatre?
I started being involved in theatre in my freshmen year of high school. Drumming for musical theatre always drew my attention. My first ever musical was Seussical at OVUHS in Vermont, and ever since I’ve been hooked. I continued to play all the shows I could in the four years I was there.
After HS, I played for a couple of musicals at Johnson State College but soon moved to Montana to study under Dr. Robert Ledbetter. While in Missoula I try to do as many musicals as I can both in and outside of the university. The environment and the people I met through the years have inspired me to continue in this field.
How long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse?
This is my 1st Season. I learned about BSP from a musical director in Missoula (Lizzie Hatfield}, who also music directs a show here in Bigfork. I knew instantly that I wanted to be involved and quickly sent out audition tapes. I knew that playing for Bigfork Summer Playhouse was the next best step I could do for my profession.
What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork?
Meeting everyone in the company…. and exploring Bigfork! Great people in a great place!
What else would you like to add?
I particular like different kinds of world music genres/styles. In theatre I find myself weaving in and out of these different styles like a fusion-type deal — I’m all about that kind of stuff!
