What is your personal history with theatre?

I have been heavily involved in theatre since sixth grade, when my sister forced me to audition for a role in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” with the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. I was cast as a spooky tree and have been hooked ever since. After spending the rest of my middle and high school career doing roughly four shows a year with the Children’s Theatre,

Jacob_Sefcak_3I started attending the University of Montana studying theatre and vocal performance. I have done several shows with the University, playing Mary Sunshine in “Chicago,” Avram the Bookseller in “Fiddler on the Roof,’ and Antipholus of Syracuse in Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors.” Two years ago I spent my summer working at the Fort Peck Summer Theatre where I played Dennis in “All Shook Up,” The Candy Man in “Wonka,” and Angie in “Gypsy.”

How long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse?

This will be my second summer at the playhouse. Being a local, I have grown up loving the shows BSP has put on, so naturally I aspired to be a part of it. Last year, about a month after auditioning for the Thomsons in Missoula, I received an offer to be in the acting company and accepted it immediately. What a way to spend a summer!

Jacob_Sefcak_2Being a local, what are¬†your favorite things to do in your “off” time while working at BSP?

In our free time, I love floating the river, jumping off the rocks at Wayfarers, and eating at Burger Town.

What are your plans after the BFSP season ends?

When our contract ends, I will return to Missoula to finish my senior year at the University of Montana. And from there, I wish I could tell you what I will be doing! Only time will tell…
