What role(s) do you play at the BSP this season?

Sally — You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown
Vicki — The Full Monty
Leopard/Jungle Citizen — Tarzan
Graziella/Dance Captain — West Side Story
Alice/Ensemble — Thoroughly Modern Millie
Cast & Choreographer —  Hits of the 50/60s

Mallory_King_CastWhat is your personal history with theatre?

I came from a very musical family and I have been dancing since I was three years old! Dance has been my main focus as long as I can remember. Later in middle school I started to take voice lessons. I really sparked an interest in theatre when I was in High School by joining the drama club and show choir. Then I decided I wanted to go to college for Musical Theatre and follow my dreams. I just finished my junior year at Western Michigan University working towards my BFA in Music Theatre Performance with a minor in dance. I plan on graduating in December of 2014!

MAllory_King_DockHow long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse?

This is my second season at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse. It is so great to be back in the mountains with an amazing group of people. Last season I was Olive in “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” Liesl in “The Sound of Music,” Margot in “Legally Blonde,” Annie/Dance Captain “Chicago,” and Laker Girl/Ensemble in “Spamalot.”

What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork?

I enjoy sitting out on the public dock and reading and/or drinking a coffee. I like to watch late night movies with my fellow company members. Everyone loves when I decide to bake! I loved going white water rafting at Glacier National Park  and going on the Flathead Lake boat cruise last year. I am looking forward to this summer’s new adventures!

What are your plans after the BFSP season ends?

I plan on finishing up my last semester at W.M.U. after the summer season is over! I’m looking forward to being part of the cast of “Cymbeline” at school and diving into some Shakespeare. I will also be performing in a Senior Cabaret and preparing for the Senior Showcase that we take to New York in March. After I graduate in December I hope to move to the Big Apple!

What else would you like to add to your feature that has not been asked? I am excited to choreograph this year at BSP. It will be a great new experience for me!

  1. Mallory….delighted to see you back this year. I’m the lady who spent so much time talking to you in the grocery store last year when you were here and also sat behind your mom at one of the performances. Absolutely looking forward to seeing you in a couple of days when we see West Side Story.
