Here are the responses Markus provided to our questions about his BSP and overall theatre “story.”
What role(s) do you play at the BSP this season?
I’m an actor this season and I play:
Riff — West Side Story
Muzzy Boy/Letch — Thoroughly Modern Millie
Teddy Slaughter — Full Monty
Jungle Citizen — Tarzan
What is your personal history with theatre? I began to get interested in theatre because my cousin is an actress and the only other performer in my whole family. My first community theatre production was Annie when I was 9 and I played a street urchin. I wanted to be in that production so badly that I told the director at callbacks that if I had to I would play a girl.
This is my first season at the Playhouse. I auditioned at MidWest Theatre Auditions, was called back by Bigfork and immediately felt positive vibes! A few days later I was given an offer and the rest is history!
What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork?
On the little “off” time we have during our rehearsal period, I enjoy going to Burgertown, Bear Food, and Brookies Cookies.
What are your plans after the BFSP season ends?
I am a rising senior at Indiana University Bloomington receiving my BFA in Musical Theatre, so I will be finishing my degree and hopefully heading to New York City soon after that!
Anything else you would like to add?
I am honored to be working here and even though I’ve only spent a few weeks in Bigfork, I can feel the sense of community and family within both Bigfork and the Playhouse.
