How long have you been at Bigfork Summer Playhouse?
This is my 4th summer at Bigfork in and my 3rd complete season! My first season was in 2012 and I was featured as “Mayor Shinn” in The Music Man. My second season was the following year in 2013 where I played “Mary Sunshine” in Chicago and “Patsy” in Monty Python’s Spamalot! The summer after that, 2014, I spent July at Fort Peck Summer Theatre but returned to BSP for Doo Wop! Hits of the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s to finish the season. I am absolutely thrilled to be back this summer. The staff is incredible and each year the company always becomes a family. Also, I can’t resist being in one of the most beautiful places in the country for the summer!
Please share your personal history with theatre.
I started being involved in theatre later than most actors I know pursuing their careers. While many start at a very young age, my first time on stage was at the ripe age of 15! But, woah, did it change my life! I got involved at a performing arts studio near my hometown called Center Stage Performing Arts Academy where I began taking dance, acting. and voice lessons. I auditioned and was cast in their summer musical, “All Shook Up” and I’ve never stopped since.
After high school and a miserable year pursuing Opera at LSU, I followed my dreams to study Musical Theatre and transferred to Northwestern State University. That decision was one the best I’ve made in my life. I learned so much about not only my craft, but myself. I began to love myself and accept who I was as a person and a performer. I graduated early in December of 2013 and am now pursuing a career full time in NYC!
The drive to keep going is now fueled by the passing of my mother. She was my number one fan and biggest supporter and now after losing her battle to cancer, she is a huge reason why I will continue to follow this dream. Her dreams were my dreams, so I’ll work as hard as I have too to make them come true!
What is your favorite thing to do in your “off” time while staying in Bigfork?
My favorite thing I love to do on my off time here is enjoying the company of the company! We get to do what we love, as grueling as some days are (every day!) I’m so excited to take a few dips in Flathead Lake, float Swan River, hike the various trails and mountains, see Glacier National Park, and, OH the parties! We have so many nights ahead of us to relax and let loose!
What are your plans after the BFSP season ends?
I plan on heading back to the big apple, NYC, to audition for more work in the future!
Anything else you’d like to add?
A silly dream of mine is to be on the reality show “The Voice” one day!
